List of train stations in Italy |
The Milano Nord Bullona train station ( Italian : Stazione di Milano Nord Bullona ) was a train station in the northern Italian city of Milan . He was on the urban section ( Cadorna - Bovisa ) of the Ferrovie Nord Milano operated railway lines Milano Asso and Milano Saronno .
location
The station was in the northwest of the city; its name goes back to the former location of Bullona .
Under the station building were the two tracks with two side platforms .
history
The urban section of the Milano – Saronno railway line opened in 1879 (also used by the Milano – Asso railway line) was moved below street level in 1929 due to the increase in road traffic. At the same time, the new Bullona station was built and opened as a riding station .
The station was heavily used, especially for commuter traffic. Even if the station was in an unusual location, there were numerous tram lines not far away .
In 2003 the station had to be closed due to the conversion of the line from two to four tracks. The platforms with their steel roofs were demolished due to lack of space. The widened trench was covered with concrete slabs. Operationally, the station was replaced by the Domodossola-Fiera tunnel station, which is 500 meters further south.
The listed reception building was closed and restored. There were plans for a subsequent use, but they have not been implemented until today (2011).
