Sop'yŏngyang Station (서 평양역) or Pyongyang West Station is a train station on Sochon Street in Pyongyang ( Sŏsŏng-guyŏk ), the North Korean capital. Its opening took place in 1961. In the immediate vicinity are the marshalling yard , the Kim Chŏng-tae electric locomotive works as well as signal boxes , depots and educational institutions of the railway. The P'yŏngŭi Line and P'yŏngna Line of the Korean State Railways stop here. The next train stations are thePyongyang Central Station , Pot'onggang Station and Sŏp'o Station .
