Sundby is an above-ground metro station in the Danish capital Copenhagen , in the north of the Ørestad district . The station is served by the M1 lines of the Copenhagen metro system .
The station was opened on October 19, 2002 for the newly built Vestamager – Nørreport underground line. The station is above ground in an elevated position.
