The Tsurumi Station ( Jap. 鶴見駅 , Tsurumi-eki ) is located in the city of Yokohama ( district Tsurumi ) in Kanagawa Prefecture on the Keihin-Tohoku Line of East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

history
On October 15, 1872, the station was opened by the Ministry of Railways (forerunner of the Japanese National Railways ) along the Tōkaidō main line. At the beginning only passenger traffic was carried out, from 1889 freight traffic also took place. Over the years, other routes have been connected.
On November 9, 1963, one of the most serious railway accidents in Japan occurred between Tsurumi Station and Shin-Koyasu Station, killing 161 people.
