The Vraňany – Lužec nad Vltavou railway is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the privileged Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company (StEG) as a state-guaranteed local railway . It runs from Vraňany to Lužec nad Vltavou .
According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.
history
On 6 January 1886, the StEG was the below railway lines to be executed normalspurige Local railways right to Build and businesses: ... possibly from the station Jenschowitz the northern main line to Lužetz to the banks of the Vltava ... awarded. The line was opened only for freight traffic on January 1, 1887.
After the nationalization of the StEG, the line was transferred to the kk Austrian State Railways kkStB on January 1, 1908 . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took their place . From May 16, 1929, the ČSD operated the line for passenger services.
On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia .
The 2011 annual timetable shows a total of nine pairs of passenger trains that run at irregular intervals, some of which are connected to and from Kralupy nad Vltavou . There are no trains on weekends and public holidays. Only the railcars of the ČD series 809 are used .
The bridge over the Vltava Canal will be rebuilt by July 2020. In order to guarantee a clearance height of seven instead of 4.5 meters in the future, it will be designed as a lifting bridge.
