description

In the first house there are old photographs hanging on the walls in a first room. Most of them date from the beginning of the 20th century, a few from the end of the 19th century. A second room is a large living room where people ate, talked, received guests and slept. The furnishings include carpets, mattresses, seat cushions, pillows, chests, brass objects, lamps and a cradle. A third room is set up as a kitchen. The equipment includes brass pots, ceramics, coffee grinders, jugs, etc.

The second house is older than the first and has three rooms one above the other. The bottom one is carved into the rock and was used for domestic animals such as donkey, horse, goat, and sheep. Above this is the originally only living room in the house. Clothing and jewelry from Bethlehem are on display here. Above is a bedroom built at the end of the 19th century. The room shows a collection of beds, pillows, carpets, pictures, embroidery, etc. from Bethlehem in the first third of the 20th century. The exhibits in this room were donated by Julia Michel Dabdoub, a former president of the Union of Arab Women in Bethlehem.
