Model variants

1990s models

The model came on the domestic market in 1990. The Sunny was the first scooter to be classified in India as a “scooterette”, ie a “little scooter ”, comparable to European small scooters . It initially had a 50 cm 3 single cylinder two-stroke engine and reached a top speed of 50 km / h. From 1995 the Sunny Zip was produced with a 60 cm 3 engine, also with a design-related top speed of 50 km / h. The scooter could thus be driven in India by drivers aged 16 and over with a valid driving license on public roads.

For export, the model with the 50 cm 3 cylinder was continued to be produced from 1993 to 1998 in order to meet the local criteria as a small scooter in countries such as Germany . From 1994 there was also a throttled moped version ex works . In the models from the 1990s, power was transmitted via centrifugal clutch and a chain in an oil bath housing.

2000 models

In 2000, the completely revised Sunny Spice scooter model with a contemporary Variomatic and plastic-clad tubular steel frame appeared.
