Bajiaocheng

Bajiaocheng ( Chinese  八角 城城 址 , Pinyin Bājiǎo chéng chéngzhǐ ) is an archaeological site from the Tang to Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty. It is located in the village of Bajiao (八角村) of the municipality Ganjia in circles Xiahe province Gansu in Northwest China . It has been on the list of monuments of Gansu Province since 1981, and on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2006 .

The city is over 2 km long and cross-shaped. Because of its eight-cornered appearance, it is known as the “octagonal city” (八角 城).
