Ganjia

Ganjia ( Chinese  甘加镇 , Pinyin Ganjia Zhen ) is a large village in the district of Xiahe of Autonomous Prefecture of Gannan Tibetan southeast of the northwest Chinese province of Gansu . It is located about 30 km north of Xiahe and about 140 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Lanzhou at an altitude of around 3000 m and above. The number of inhabitants is over 7000. In 2017, the municipality of Ganjia (甘 加 乡) became a large municipality (镇). The place is on the southern edge of the Dalijia Mountains (Dalijia Shan), north of the riverYangqu (央 曲 河), to the west is the Ganjia Basin . The area is only sparsely populated. The area consists mainly of grassland , barley, rape and oats are grown. The archaeological site of the "octagonal city" ( Bajiaocheng八角 城) from the Tang Dynasty to the Yuan and Ming Dynasties in Bajiao Village (八角 村) has been on the list of monuments in Gansu Province since 1981 and on the List of monuments of the People's Republic of China . The Baishiya Monastery (白 石崖 寺), a branch monastery of Labrang, is located on the territory of the large community . A lower jaw of the Denisova man was discovered near him in the Baishiya karst cave .
