Daxia He at the Liujiaxia Dam

The Daxia He River ( Chinese  大 夏河 ) is a tributary of the Yellow River in the south of Gansu Province in China.

It rises in the north of the Gannan Autonomous District of the Tibetans in the southwest of Xiahe County , flows northward and flows into the Yellow River in Yongjing . It has a length of 203 km.

The Liujiaxia Dam lies on its lower reaches . The Labrang Monastery is on its bank. The early cultures of the Banshan Machang culture , Majiayao culture , Qijia culture and Xindian culture were common in its catchment area .
