Bakrie & Brothers is one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia. It was founded in 1942 by Ahmad Bakrie . Bakrie Brothers is part of the Bakrie Group . Aburizal Bakrie is the boss of Abakrie & Brothers and was chairman of the Golkar party. His brother Nirwan Bakrie is also the boss of Abakrie & Brothers (2013). Nirwan and Aburizal Bakrie are among the richest men in Indonesia. Bakrie Telecom was or is the fourth largest telecommunications company in Indonesia.

Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (BSP) is a subsidiary of Bakrie & Brothers. BSP has 100,000 hectares of oil palm and rubber plantations. BSP has a large area of land under development. One of the company's executives is Bungaran Saragih, a former Minister of Agriculture. BSP is or was active on bog areas.
