Balabbat

Balabbat is the title for landowners in Ethiopia who were the first to settle in areas and actually means who has one father . In ancient Ethiopia , this title is most likely to be equated with the low and middle landed gentry in Europe.
From the 16th century, the local rulers of individual areas in the Shewa province were referred to as Balabbat (similar to the knights and counts in the European Middle Ages).
