Balakros (son of Amyntas)
Balakros ( Greek Βάλακρος ), son of Amyntas, was a Macedonian infantry officer of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC.
During the Asian campaign , Balakros was in 333 BC. In Kelainai as strategos of the Greek federal troops ( Corinthian League ), as successor to Antigonos Monophthalmos , who was appointed governor . He led this troop in the Battle of Issus in 333 BC. And during the sieges of Tire and Gaza in 332 BC. Chr . In the spring of 331 BC In BC Balakros was left behind in Egypt together with Peukestas as strategos of the occupying troops , from then on he is not mentioned any further.
