Baldruus
Baldruus is a god name that may appear on a Roman inscription from the province of Germania inferior . While older research equated him with the Nordic god Baldr , modern research rejects the existence of a god Baldruus as not proven.
Utrecht inscription stones
Two inscription panels were recovered from the Roman settlement Traiectum , today Utrecht , which have been made almost illegible with squiggles. The two tablets are dated to the 3rd or 4th century and are likely to come from a temple wall. In addition to Baldruus, the otherwise unproven names of the gods Hercules Alabuandus and Lobbonus appear in the inscription, twice the otherwise very well documented Hercules Magusanus , as well as the goddesses Borvoboendoa , Cobba and Vabusoa , which are only mentioned here. While the older research tried to find an interpretation, the tables and reading suggestions are no longer recognized by modern research.
