Balearic pony

The Balearic Pony (Caballo Mallorquin) is an ancient Mediterranean horse breed that is threatened with extinction. Their main breeding area is Spain. It can be used as a work, carriage and riding pony , mainly they are only used for mule breeding.

Exterior

The Balearic pony has a dry head with lively eyes, small, rear-facing ears and a rams nose. The short, steep and curved neck and shoulder of the pony are not very muscled and have almost no withers. It has hard hooves and joints. His height is approx. 140 cm. It usually has a light or dark brown fur and a thick, standing mane. White badges on the head are also allowed.

It is a willing and good-natured pony that is very frugal and insensitive to heat. It is very reliable and sturdy, but also elegant with diligent movements.
