Life

Rolli grew up in Bern, where he completed an apprenticeship as an antiques restorer in 1958 (at the same time cabinet maker EFZ). He then worked for four years in his father's workshop. In 1960 he gained his first stage experience as a member of the Bernese clown group Caneros . In 1965 he went on a European tour with the Caneros. In 1966, Rolli began a four-year training course in pantomime with Ernst Georg Böttger at the acting department of the Bern Conservatory Music School . After that he was Böttger's assistant for two years and played as a group member and soloist in the Bernese pantomime ensemble (Mime Berne) . From working with the Bernese pantomime ensemble, Rolli developed his own way of expression.

In addition to guest appearances in almost all small theaters in Switzerland and appearances in Germany , France , Italy and Austria , Rolli worked as a pantomime teacher. He worked out his numbers himself; artistic advisor was Ernst Georg Böttger.

Rolli gave up his activity as a mime artist at the beginning of the 1980s and has since worked as a restorer, art dealer and antiquarian.
