Baliancheng

Baliancheng ( Chinese  八 连城 遗址 , Pinyin Bāliánchéng yízhǐ ) is an archaeological site from the time of the Chinese Tang Dynasty and the time of the Five Dynasties in the east of Hunchun in the triangle between North Korea and Russia on the Tumen in the northeast Chinese province of Jilin . The capital of the old Bohai Empire (Balhae) was located here from 785 to 794 .

The Baliancheng site ( Baliancheng yizhi ) in Hunchun has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-31) since 2001 .
