Balkan Ice Hockey League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Balkan Ice Hockey League ( Bulgarian Балканска Хокейна Лига), called BaHL (Bulgarian БаХЛ), is the second highest division in ice hockey in Bulgaria after the Bulgarian Ice Hockey League , in which only amateur teams take part.

history

The idea for the league came from Martin Milanow , a Bulgarian ice hockey player and today's President of BaHL. Initially, only a small number of teams took part in the game, but this increased from year to year. In the past season (2013/14) ten teams took part.

The league has existed in its current form since the 2006/07 season.

Over the years teams from Serbia , Greece and Macedonia took part again and again . Two teams from other countries are currently participating: Metalurg Skopje (Macedonia) and Allstars (Greece).

After the regular season, playoffs take place in which the BaHL master is determined.
