Ballafayle Cairn - seen from the forecourt

The Ballafayle Cairn , (also called Ballagory Horned Cairn) near Ramsey , in the north of the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea, is a Neolithic cairn that was built as a flat (about 0.5 m high) roughly triangular cairn between 2000 and 1500 BC And was excavated in 1928.

The hill, bounded on one side by dry stone masonry , contains many burned stones. Numerous cremated burials were found in the interior of the hill. A concave wall on the edge of the hill, which is significantly higher than the stone mound (which is also described as a slightly rising platform) borders a paved forecourt on which two menhirs stand. This type of monument is otherwise unknown.
