Saint-Rémy church

Vers-sur-Selle ( Picard : VER-su-Selle) is a northern French municipality with 735 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté d'agglomération Amiens Métropole and belongs to the canton of Amiens-7 .

geography

The municipality in the Amiénois southwest of Amiens lies on both sides of the Selle ; the municipality extends in the northwest to the former route nationale 29 and is touched in the northeast by two motorways ( Autoroute A16 and Autoroute A29 ), which branch off here. The Amiens - Rouen railway also runs through the municipality; the station (with an earlier branch to Beauvais , now the La Coulée verte hiking trail) has been closed since the late 1980s.

history

In the community were u. a. Flint tools and Neo-Stone Age and Merovingian burials discovered.

In 1426 the village and its church were burned down by English troops. The village was also sacked in 1472 by troops of Charles the Bold . The leper house was closed in 1617.
