Gentelles ( Picard : Gintelle) is a northern French municipality with 640 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme and belongs to the canton of Amiens-4 .

geography

The municipality is located on the edge of the Santerre countryside around four kilometers east of Boves . It extends in the north to the A29 autoroute .

history

Gentelles was one of the first donations from Clovis II and Bathilde to Corbie Abbey .

During the Franco-German War , 25 soldiers were killed here in one battle.

During the First World War , the community was completely devastated. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
