Plachy-Buyon ( Picard : Plachy-Bion ) is a northern French municipality with 878 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

geography

The community in the valley of the Selle , which has grown together with the neighboring community Prouzel , extends in the east beyond the A16 autoroute to a historic route of the Chaussée Brunehaut system and is located around twelve kilometers south-southwest of Amiens . The municipality was traversed by the railway line from Amiens to Beauvais , which had been closed since the late 1980s . The settlement focus and the district Boyon are on the eastern bank of the Selle.

history

Traces of two Gallo-Roman villas can be found in the municipality.

Plachy is first mentioned in 1066 as placeum . The rule was under the cathedral chapter of Amiens. The place had numerous mills, one of which developed into a paper mill.
