Hescamps ( Picard : Hécamp ) is a northern French municipality with 516 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté de communes Somme Sud-Ouest and belongs to the canton of Poix-de-Picardie .
geography
The very extensive municipality forms the south-western corner of the Somme department. In the west it is essentially crossed by the municipalities of Fourcigny , Fouilloy , Romescamps and Saint-Thibault as well as by the former Route nationale 15bis , in the south by the municipalities of Sarcus , Élencourt , Daméraucourt and the border to the Oise department , in the east by the municipalities of Méréaucourt , Thieulloy-la-Ville and Sainte-Segrée , in the north by the municipalities Meigneux and Marlers limited. In the east-west direction, the municipality is crossed by the railway line from Amiens to Rouen (with stops in Sainte-Segrée and Fouilloy). The Évoissons and their tributary Poix have their source in the municipality .

The present municipality was created in 1972 from the merger of Agnières , Frettemolle , Hescamps and Souplicourt .

economy
The Candor wind farm has been in Hescamps since 2008 with five wind turbines and an installed capacity of 6000 kWh.
