The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté d'agglomération Amiens Métropole and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

The name of the municipality is derived from the Latin term strata, which refers to the old Chaussée Brunehaut .
