Revelles ( Picard : Érvelle ) is a northern commune with 515 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Somme department in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté d'agglomération Amiens Métropole and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Somme .
geography
The municipality is located around 15 kilometers west-southwest of Amiens and nine kilometers east-southeast of Molliens-Dreuil . The municipality is crossed by the Autoroute A 29 and the former Route nationale 29 , on which the Maison-Blanche homestead is located. In the south Revelles borders on Namps-Maisnil , in the west on Quevauvillers .
history
During the work on the A29 autoroute, Gallo-Roman traces came to light, including a Roman rest house and a mausoleum .
Since the year 901 gentlemen von Revelles can be traced. In 1589 the Duchess of Longueville, who had escaped from captivity in Amiens, was killed in Revelles during the religious turmoil. Around 1850 there were six mills in Revelles.
