Baizieux ( Picard : Boaiziu) is a northern French municipality with 207 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme .

geography

The community is located around 10.5 km west of Albert at the intersection of the D179 and D452 département roads on the heights between the Ancre and the Hallue .

history

St. Pusinna is said to have died here in the 5th century . During the Merovingian era , Fredegunde , concubine and later wife of Chilperich I , is said to have stayed in Baizieux several times.

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
