Chipilly Church

Chipilly (Picard: Chipillin) is a northern French municipality with 171 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme .

geography

The municipality is located on the right bank of the Somme, which meanders here , across from Cerisy , around twelve kilometers east of Corbie and eleven kilometers south of Albert . It extends north to Départementstrasse D1.

history

Heavy fighting took place in Chipilly in August 1918 in the Battle of Amiens (1918) .

The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
