Castle of Thoix

Thoix ( Picard : TOE ) is a northern French municipality with 144 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

The municipality on the border to the Oise department (with the isolated Ferme du Campreux) is located around eight kilometers southwest of Conty on the upper reaches of the Parquets stream , a small tributary of the Évoissons , which drains into the Somme via the Selle .

history

Thoix was first mentioned in 1140 as Teoletum . The rule bore the title of margraviate. The Admiral de Bonnivet , favorite of Francis I , held it.
