Prouzel ( Picard : Prouzi ) is a northern French municipality with 552 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

geography

The community on the left (western) bank of the Selle, which has grown together with the neighboring community of Plachy-Buyon , is around eleven kilometers south-southwest of Amiens . The municipality was traversed by the railway line from Amiens to Beauvais, which had been closed since the late 1980s (now expanded as the La Coulée verte hiking trail).

history

Several Gallic burials were found in Prouzel.

The castle is the place of death of the Minister of War Louis Juchault de Lamoricière (1806-1865).
