Boves is a French municipality with 3192 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Amiens and the canton of Amiens-5 . Boves is nine kilometers south of Amiens on the banks of the Avre River . Its tributary Noye also crosses the city and only flows north of it into the Avre.

history

In July 1185 King Philip August signed the Treaty of Boves , through which he acquired part of Picardy.
