The Saint-Georges church

Villers-Bocage ( Picard : Viler-Bocage) is a northern French municipality with 1422 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the canton of Amiens-2 .

geography

The municipality is located around twelve kilometers north of Amiens on Route nationale 25 , which leads via Doullens and Arras . In the north of the village is the La Montignette industrial park.

history

Villers-Bocage was the canton's capital from 1790 to 2015 and has been the seat of the communité de communes du Bocage et de l'Hallue since the end of 1999 .
