Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité church

Épécamps ( Picard : Épécamp ) is a northern French municipality with five inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and is part of the Communauté de communes du Bernavillois and the canton of Doullens .

geography

The municipality, which is one of the smallest in the department, is located around three kilometers south of Bernaville . The forest of Bois d'Épécamps occupies the south and closes off the municipal area with distinctive terrain.

Toponymy and History

The name of the community is derived from the term Spissus campus.

Since 1137 there was a priory of Augustinian canons , which was confiscated by the state in 1791 and sold as national property; their last remains disappeared in 1895.
