Cachy ( Picard : Cachin) is a northern French municipality with 282 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens , it is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme and belongs to the canton of Amiens-4 .
geography
Cachy is on the edge of the Santerre countryside , around seven kilometers east of Boves and seven kilometers south of Corbie . The municipality extends to the north beyond the A29 autoroute and the former Route nationale 29 . The ruins of the castle of Bois-l'Abbé are on the D1029.
history
Traces of a Gallo-Roman villa have been found in Cachy . The lordship belonged to the Corbie Abbey .
During the First World War , the community, where tank battles took place and where a military airfield was located, was badly devastated. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
