Bettembos ( Picard : Bétimbo ) is a northern French municipality with 102 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté de communes Somme Sud-Ouest and belongs to the canton of Poix-de-Picardie .

Toponymy and Geography

The municipality, whose name is derived from the Germanic personal name Betto and the suffix -bosc (forest of Betto), is located about ten kilometers west-northwest of Poix-de-Picardie on the D36 departmental road. The municipality extends to the north beyond the A29 autoroute . It is bounded in the south by the D92 département road from Caulières to Offignies . Adjacent to the north is the extensive municipality of Hornoy-le-Bourg .
