Montigny-sur-l'Hallue ( Picard : Montignin-su-l'Hallue) is a northern French municipality with 205 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the canton of Corbie .

geography

The municipality, which is bounded to the east by the Hallue River , is about twelve kilometers northwest of Amiens . The distance to Albert is around 17.5 kilometers. The municipality extends from the Hallue about three kilometers to the west.

history

Finds suggest settlement as early as Gallo-Roman times.

The foundation walls of the feudal castle were still visible until 1830.

In December 1870 the Battle of the Hallue took place in the area .
