Franvillers ( Picard : Franvili) is a northern French municipality with 513 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the canton of Corbie and is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme .

geography

The community is located almost entirely north of the D929 department road and on the D23, D78 and D179 department roads around twelve kilometers southwest of Albert on the heights between the Ancre and the Hallue .

history

The Battle of the Hallue took place near Franvillers in December 1870 .
