Saint-Saturnin Church

Morvillers-Saint-Saturnin ( Picard : Morvile-Saint-Saturnin ) is a northern French municipality with 406 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Amiens , is part of the Communauté de communes Somme Sud-Ouest and belongs to the canton of Poix-de-Picardie .

geography

The municipality crossed by the former Route nationale 29 is about six kilometers east of Aumale in Haute-Normandie and twelve kilometers west of Poix-de-Picardie . The municipality extends to the north beyond the A29 autoroute and borders the municipalities of Hornoy-le-Bourg and Lafresguimont-Saint-Martin . In the west it borders u. a. to Aumale and thus to the Seine-Maritime department . Morvillers includes the districts of Charny and Etotonne in the north and Digeon in the extreme southwest and the Le Coq Gaulois traffic junction, where the D1029, D315 and D18 departmental roads meet. The church Saint-Saturnin is isolated on the D18 about one kilometer west of Morvillers. A wind farm (Parc Éolien de Morvillers) is spreading north of the D1029.

Personalities

  • Marcel Audemard d'Alançon (1914–1940), French aviator, died here in an aerial battle and was buried in the Saint-Saturnin cemetery
