Ribeaucourt ( Picard : Ribieucourt ) is a northern French municipality with 250 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and belongs to the canton of Flixecourt .

geography

The municipality is located around 5.5 kilometers north of Domart-en-Ponthieu and 4.5 kilometers west of Bernaville . The castle is located in the northwest of the municipality on an avenue cross. The Bois de Ribeaucourt , criss-crossed by star-shaped aisles, is only partially on the municipal territory. The hamlet of Barlette in the south belongs to Ribeaucourt .

Toponymy and History

The place name is derived from the personal name Erembold (us). The lords of Ribeaucourt were vassals of the Abbey of Saint-Riquier (Centula, Centulum).

During the Second World War , the German Wehrmacht set up rocket launchers in the Bois de Ribeaucourt. In the summer of 1944, the place was damaged in American air raids.
