Agenville ( Picard : Ginville ) is a northern French municipality with 91 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Amiens and is part of the Communauté de communes du Territoire Nord Picardie and the canton of Doullens .

geography

The community is located around 23.5 km northeast of Abbeville and around 7 km northwest of Bernaville on the D56 département road from Beaumetz to Crécy-en-Ponthieu . It owns a joint complex of school and Mairie with the neighboring municipality of Domléger-Longvillers in the Abbeville arrondissement .

history

In the Hundred Years War , the place was largely destroyed in the aftermath of the Battle of Crécy in 1346. The basement should also go back to this time . Agenville had a priory and was a pilgrimage center.

In 1944 Agenville was 95% destroyed in bombing raids. A Wehrmacht rocket launch pad nearby is mentioned as the occasion . After the Second World War , the place was rebuilt in a modern way.
