Frémontiers ( Picard : Frémontyi ) is a northern French municipality with 154 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens and belongs to the canton of Ailly-sur-Noye .

geography

The municipality with the western district of Uzenneville is about six kilometers east of Poix-de-Picardie in the valley of the Évoissons .

history

In Frémontiers there was a monastery, still remembered by the suffix -montiers in the community name, and two castles. Only traces of these have survived. During the Franco-Prussian War , the place was occupied by German troops in 1870/71.
