Amiénois

The Amiénois is a historical landscape in Picardy . It includes the area around Amiens , Conty , Poix-de-Picardie , Doullens , Picquigny and Rubempré in what is now the Somme department .

history

During the Carolingian era , the Amienois was a county. Until 1185 the counts were vassals of the Bishop of Amiens. Under Philip II August it came to the French crown, but was ceded to Philip the Good of Burgundy in 1435 . After the death of Charles the Bold , it returned to the French crown in 1477. This was confirmed by the Peace of Arras in 1482 .
