Today's Pritzerbe primary school "Johann Wolfgang von Goethe" is the only school in the city of Havelsee . Classes take place in a school building that was built in 1853/54 and is a listed building in the former town of Pritzerbe .

architecture

Main building of the elementary school on Kirchstrasse

The two-storey neo-Romanesque main building of the today's primary school was of exposed, bare red and black bricks built, which gives the impression of functional simplicity. Six layers of red bricks are each interrupted in color by a layer of black bricks, which results in banding . The facade facing Pritzerber Kirchstrasse is divided into three parts. Each side are gable constantly two parts of the building, so-called side projections with triangular gables. On the triangular gables on the front, a step with gable ears and a gable tiller were incorporated as decorative elements in the lower area . The gable walls have a round arched opening and are each supported by three consoles , which are connected by two small round arches. In addition, the gables also have pointed gables with lower steps. The two risalits protruding from the alignment of the building are connected by an eaves part of the building, which is somewhat set back . The four windows facing the street on the upper floor of the side elevation were constructed with round arches . Slightly profiled and very simple window roofs are located above the arched windows or the lintels . The roofs of two windows each form a structural unit and thus double arches. Two small arched windows are in the attic area under the gables. In contrast, the other windows on the front have segmental arches as elements and no profiled lintels. On the south side of the main building there is only one segmental arch niche on both floors . A segmental arched window that originally existed to the right of these niches was walled up. In the north exterior facade there are three segmental arched windows and also segmental arched niches on both floors. In the center of the front there is a stone tablet with the inscription "Zentralschule Johann-Wolfgang von Goethe" in fracture and a slightly modified coat of arms of Pritzerbes in relief.

At the rear of the building, the structure of the front has been removed. There a gable-side elevation was only constructed on the left or on the northern side. In contrast to the front, there are four arched windows on both floors. The gables on the back were made much simpler than those on the front. The arched window roofing known from the front can only be found on the back above the arched windows on the upper floor. The main entrance to the school yard is located directly next to the risalit.

Further decorative elements on the building are a cornice running around the building above the plinth or directly under the windows on the lower floor, which is supported by small consoles, another cornice supported by consoles, which separates the lower floor from the upper floor, a cornice without consoles under the windows upstairs and consoles under the eaves .

In addition to the listed main building, the school yard is framed by two simple, single-storey school buildings and a wall on the north and east sides. The northern building is an extension to the main building. On the opposite side of Kirchstrasse there is a two-storey new building completed in 2012 with a loft, ancillary buildings and its own playground, which extends the school. Primarily the children of the first three school years are taught in it.

history

New construction of the primary school for the lower classes

In 1851 the city of Pritzerbe purchased a plot of land for the construction of a new city school for 1,700 thalers . This school building was built in the years 1853 to 1854 for 8,265 thalers from local clinker bricks and initially comprised four classrooms and two service rooms. At that time, more than 200 students attended the school. These were taught by three teachers in up to six classes. In the years 1891 to 1892 an extension with two more classrooms and two service apartments was added. After the end of the Second World War, a primary school was set up in Pritzerbe in 1945, and in 1946 school lessons for eleven classes were held in six rooms. In 1949 the school was named " Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ", one of the most famous German-speaking writers. The school was organized as a central school. Six years later, a day care center was set up at the school , in which the children of working parents could be looked after after school ended. In 1958, polytechnic instruction in the so-called land variant was introduced in Pritzerbe and a year later a polytechnic high school was established. In this context, a first 9th grade was taught in the school year 1959/60. In 1960 the additional expansion of specialist rooms, which became necessary with the realignment, took place. In the school year 1964/65 further extensions took place. An old restaurant and stables were turned into specialist cabinets, a gymnasium and a new dining room for school meals . After the end of the GDR , polytechnical comprehensive education was abolished in the state of Brandenburg and the school was converted into a primary school in 1992 . In 2012, a new building opposite the listed main building was inaugurated, in which there are some classrooms. Since the primary school in the state of Brandenburg is designed for the first six school years, pupils are taught until the end of the 6th grade. The school is run by the Beetzsee Office in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district . The concept provides for all-day care. The number of pupils taught at the beginning of the 2013/14 school year was around 150. These were taught by 10 teachers in eight classes.
