The Balleny Fracture Zone is an undersea transform fault in the Southern Ocean . It lies well ahead of the Antarctic sector known as Ross Dependency and extends as far as the vicinity of the Balleny Islands

The transform fault, recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features since December 1971 , is named after the neighboring Balleny Islands.
