architecture

The walls of the castle are almost three meters thick and are made of sandstone and quarry stone. On the east side, a coat of arms is carved into the side of the stone staircase that bears the year 1370. Another coat of arms with the initials AB (Blair) GM and the year 1578 can be found in the southeast corner above a passage. The teeth in the building indicate the presence of a protective wall or barbican . The main block of the castle has three full floors and an attic, the extension has two full floors. On the upper floor of the extension there is a bedroom and the knight's hall . In 1870 the tower was redesigned with a parapet with battlements, an outside staircase and a caphouse .
