Baltona
The Baltona Foreign Trade Company Ltd ( Polish : Przedsiębiorstwo Handlu Zagranicznego "Baltona" Spółka Akcyjna ) was 1946 in Poland founded. Today the company operates duty-free shops at Polish airports and supplies ships to Polish ports.

In 1946 the Baltona was founded as a private trading company for ship supplies. In 1949, the socialist government decided to combine the shipping trade in one company; in the state Baltona Ship Supply ( Baltona Zaopatrzenie Statków ). In the following years, Baltona entered the duty-free market and took over the supply of diplomatic missions. In 1958 the first shop opened, selling goods for foreign exchange at international trade fairs and exhibitions. In the early 1970s, new markets were sought and goods began to be sold on LOT flights . Expansion abroad began in the late 1970s. In 1984 ordering by catalog was introduced. In the same year the company was converted into a stock corporation. In 1985 a chain of retail stores was started. A major restructuring took place between 1995 and 2000 due to the political and economic situation; followed by another restructuring in the years 2004–2006.

In 2006, a total of 17,852 shares with a total value of 2,677,800 zloty in circulation. Alfa Center Sp. (Warsaw) holds 48.78%, Skarb Panstwa (state property) 26.83%, PP Porty Lotnicze (Warsaw) 12.75%, Gl Nywig SA (Warsaw) 11.86% and 0.48% % are in free float.
In 2004 the turnover was 90,395,000.00 zlotys, in 2006 it was 114,154,002 zlotys and the profit was 2,262,637.65 zlotys. 82% of this was achieved with duty-free shops, 12.5% with retail outlets, 5% with marine equipment and 0.5% with supplies to diplomatic missions. For 2009 a turnover of 150 mil. Zloty and a profit of 10 mil. Zloty expected.
