Bamen
The term Bamen ( Chinese 八 门 - "eight gates") describes the eight hand movements of the 13 basic types of movement (Shisanshi) of Taijiquan .

A distinction is made between the four straight hand movements (Sizheng) and the four hand movements directed into the corners (Siyu). Peng , Lü , Ji and An are the four straight hand movements , Cai , Lie , Zhou and Kao are the four oblique hand movements. Each hand movement is assigned a trigram ( bagua ) and a direction.
