Banachiewicz is an impact crater on the far eastern edge of the Moon's front , southwest of Neper Crater . The crater is very badly eroded and the wall is largely leveled.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Polish astronomer and mathematician Tadeusz Banachiewicz .
