Banca Farmafactoring SpA, headquartered in Milan and employing around 130 people, is a sales finance institute with private customer business. It was founded in 1985 by an association of Italian and international pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of bio-medical equipment in order to create a single point of contact for the complex activities of credit management in the national healthcare system. In 2010 the company expanded to Spain under the name Farmafactoring Espana. In addition to Italy and Spain, the bank has been active in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia under the name Magellan since 2016. In 2015, the bank had a core capital ratio of 24.3% (as of December 2015) and generated sales of EUR 126.7 million.
Deposit insurance
As an Italian credit institution, the bank is subject to the relevant European Union directives 94/19 / EC, 2009/14 / EC and 2014/49 / EU. The Italian deposit insurance (“Fondo Interbancario di Tutela die Depositi”) guarantees a maximum amount of EUR 100,000 per bank.
