Different strap hooks

The band hook or hoop puller is a tool used by the cooper that is used to pull on the head hoop , the last barrel hoop in wooden barrels .

The tool consists of a piece of wood with a long handle, in which a groove is embedded, which carries a rotatable iron hook. The end of the tape hook is placed under one of the already driven tires, the hook inside the tire to be fitted. By pressing the handle at the other end downwards and repeatedly applying it at several points, the strap hook acts as a lever and pulls the tire over the edge of the barrel.
