Bane NOR SF , originally Jernbaninfrastructureforetaket , is a Norwegian state-owned company and is responsible for the railway infrastructure in Norway . The establishment was decided at the meeting of the king with the " Statsråd " ( Norwegian "Kongen i statsråd" ) on February 5, 2016, the company was operational from January 1, 2017. The establishment was part of the railway reform of the government of Erna Solberg .

purpose

The statutory purpose of the company is to provide an available railway infrastructure as well as effective and user-friendly railway infrastructure services (including hub and terminal development) as the basis for the transport of people and goods on the national railway network. The main social obligations are the planning, construction, administration, operation and maintenance of the national railway network, traffic control and administration of railway grounds, for which the company is responsible in agreement with Jernbane directorate . These are mainly the areas for which Jernbaneverket was previously responsible.

The company is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport ( Norwegian "Samferdselsdepartementet" ) and started operations on January 1st, 2017. Funding is to be provided mainly through agreements with "Jernbanedirektoratet" on the management, operation and maintenance of the existing infrastructure and the planning and development of new infrastructure, in addition to the income from the sale of services for railway companies, infrastructure costs and income from assets. Bane NOR also took over the Rome Eiendom from the NSB group.

Bane NOR are divided into five departments with responsibility for their respective areas of application. This department is headed by four employees with responsibility.

  • Development department: responsible for planning and implementing projects for new infrastructure
  • Infrastructure department: responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance as well as investment projects related to the improvement of the existing infrastructure
  • Customer and traffic department: responsible for operational traffic management, route plans, contracts with rail operators and information for travelers
  • Hub and real estate division: responsible for the administration and management of the real estate
  • Digitization and technology division: responsible for the development and implementation process in the areas of digitization and technology

Siri Beate Hatlen has overall responsibility for the company .
